Rebuilding What Was Lost — Restoring Function and Confidence

Dental Crowns & Bridgework

What Is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a custom-made restoration that fits over a damaged tooth like a cap, covering it entirely down to the gumline. Crowns are used when a tooth has lost so much structure — through decay, fracture, or previous large fillings — that a simple filling can no longer provide adequate support. A crown restores the tooth’s full size, shape, strength, and appearance, allowing you to bite and chew normally.

What Is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge literally “bridges” the gap created by one or more missing teeth. It consists of artificial teeth (called pontics) anchored to crowns placed on the natural teeth on either side of the gap. Bridges are a fixed, non-removable option for replacing missing teeth without implants, restoring your ability to eat, speak, and smile normally.

When Crowns and Bridges Are the Right Choice

What to Expect During Treatment

Crown and bridge treatment typically requires two appointments. At your first visit, the supporting tooth or teeth are shaped to accommodate the crown, and a temporary restoration is placed while your permanent crown is fabricated. At the second appointment, the final crown or bridge is checked for fit, bite, and appearance before being permanently cemented.
